The program offers support following both work related and personal traumas. These scenarios can range from events on the job (i.e. emergency landings) to personal issues at home (i.e. loss of a loved one). The goal of CISM is to assure the overall well-being of Flight Attendants in the effort to promote mental health wellbeing not only in their flying career, but personal life.

The ASAP (Aviation Safety Action Program) allows for self-disclosure of FAA and company policy violations or safety suggestions.
TWU 577 ERC Agents meet biweekly with the company and FAA to review submissions, identify the root cause, and protect individuals under the ASAP umbrella if accepted.

FLOC/Membership Education
The Future Leaders Organizing Committee (FLOC) works to educate, empower, and organize the new Flight Attendants of Allegiant Air. For many of our Flight Attendants, this job is the first time they have ever been a part of a Union, and many do not understand our history and why we are unionized. By providing education and resources, we help new workers understand the importance of being unionized and how the TWU Local 577 plays a role in the future of the labor movement. FLOC will work to create materials and resources that assist new workers. This committee will work with the Executive Board and the TWU International FLOC. They will also assist the local with New Hire Classes and creating a point of contact. FLOC believes in building future leaders in our union and getting everyone involved!

Grievance
The Grievance Committee holds the company accountable for contractual violations that impact the Flight Attendant work group. A grievance can be answered by the company with a Union Win, Grievance Settlement Agreement (GSA), or denial. If denied, the grievance may proceed to the Appeal process and System Board of Adjustments if the union disagrees with the company’s answer.

Government Affairs
As Flight Attendants we fall under the RLA (Railway Labor Act), which affects regulations. These regulations often directly impact health, safety, security, and workplace environment. The TWU 577 Government Affairs Committee works to maintain a voice on behalf of our membership in the political process to ensure their concerns are heard. A crucial aspect of the political process is building relationships with elected officials through meetings and events and maintaining those relationships. Advocating on behalf of the membership includes participation in TWU International C.O.P.E, lobbying efforts, and educating elected officials on aviation issues affecting our workgroup. We are our best advocates, and we can make an extraordinary impact together.

The SPC’s responsibilities also include creating educational materials on bidding, pay reports, and CBA sections, as well as answering member questions about scheduling practices and payroll issues via social media and the TWU website.
