Register to VOTE for your Negotiating Committee
4/22/2016 8:30:42 AM by TWU Local 577
We know that you have all been patiently awaiting the elections of vacant negotiators that we have pledged to fill. For our newer Members, when we elected our original Negotiating Team Members, we asked our Flight Attendants to show up at a specified location in each base and cast their vote in person. We have grown a lot since then, so we have been seeking options to give every Member a chance to vote if they choose.
We are now preparing for elections for the TWU 577 Negotiating Committee. It is vital that we limit election participation to Flight Attendants in good standing at Allegiant Airlines. In order to achieve our past goals of comprehensive communications, we collected e-mail addresses that were not necessarily associated with names. We hoped that Allegiant Airlines would allow us to reach out to you via “allegiantair” addresses, but they refused our request. So, in order to ensure the only people voting are Allegiant Flight Attendants, we are asking everyone to register to vote.
In order to confirm that you may vote, please complete the registration form so we can send you all pertinent election details. You MUST provide your first and last name (as it appears on the Allegiant Air seniority list), your employee number, and your e-mail address. In addition, you may choose to provide your street address for future communications. This registration will (by necessity) opt you in to our e-mail communication database. You must opt-in to receive election information. After you receive the info and vote, you are certainly able to “opt out” again (there is a link at the bottom of every message). Just keep in mind that the majority of communication for any future election news will be delivered through e-mail.
Once we have elected our additional Negotiating Team Members, we will also be able to schedule training for the many Base Representatives who have volunteered. Please complete your registration for the election immediately and notify all your other 577 flying partners to do the same. Also, please be sure to wear your union pin and lanyard - if you need them, please reply to this message or fill out this form and give us your contact information.
As we prepare for the elections and training to build our Union, we do have some very good news. After a productive negotiating session at the end of March, we have scheduled additional dates for negotiations with Allegiant Management in Houston, TX on May 17th through the 19th. We know that we cannot reach a contract unless we are meeting, so we look forward to returning to the table.
Thank you for your continued support.
