You may have seen the news stories this week that Allegiant was giving our Pilots a 5-7% raise based on last year’s profitability. Please do not believe that this was some sort of benevolent gift. It is part of the Pilot’s current work rules that has banded pay rates to be evaluated every six months based on profitability. Our Flight Attendants were offered a similar program prior to forming a union, but voted it down, because it could result in pay cuts if profitability targets are not met.

Commission Report Request

As we all know there have been numerous mistakes in our compensation and commission since the implementation of Merlot.  At our last Mediation session with Management, we were informed that they are currently conducting audits on all Flight Attendant and Pilot payroll.  Management stated that they did believe that the payroll issues were decreasing, but Flight Attendants should let them know if there is a discrepancy.

Why We Fight

Two weeks ago our Negotiating Team met with Management and made no progress. This week I had the privilege of attending the evidentiary hearing regarding the Pilot lawsuit against Allegiant. For two days I sat in the courtroom gallery full of Pilots who knew what they were fighting for and supporting.

 

We have asked you to stand behind and support us, but we understand that it is difficult to fight when you don’t know exactly what you are fighting for. PILOT STRIKE POSTPONED, TWU PLEDGES FULL SUPPORT

Today, the Allegiant Air pilots represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) announced that they will strike starting tomorrow morning at 3 AM EDT to restore working conditions that have been violated by the carrier.  This action comes in response to Allegiant’s refusal to comply with a court order issued on July 22, 2014 by United States District Judge Andrew P. Gordon for the United States District Court, District of Nevada (Case No. 2:14-cv-00043-APG-GWF; Dkt. No. 51).

PILOTS CALL STRIKE 3AM APR 2

This morning, our Allegiant Air Pilots represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) announced that they will be on strike effective at 3:00 AM EDT tomorrow morning April 2, 2015 to restore the status quo provisions that were violated by Allegiant Air Management as determined by a recent federal lawsuit.
 
The IBT has requested that our TWU Flight Attendants report for work unless otherwise directed by Management...
