Happy New Year Resolution
1/1/2015 5:13:10 PM by Admin 577

As we head into the New Year, we have a great opportunity to evaluate where we are as a Union, and look to the future.

Over the last year we have been able to resolve some minor issues at the table, however Management still refuses to address the issues that are most important to our Members including fair compensation, expenses, union security, and scope.

Dear Fellow Allegiant Flight Attendants,

My name is Mel Lancaster and I am in my tenth year as an Allegiant Flight Attendant. I am your co-worker, your peer, and a team player.  Most importantly, I am a TWU member, with or without a signed contract. I want to be educated in what the TWU can do for us and more importantly what we can do together.

Happy Holidays

This Holiday season we’d like to thank each and every 577 Member who took the time to write us to offer your firsthand thoughts, advice and trust. Our team remains vigilant and receptive to your needs and guidance. We understand that we get our marching orders from you and that we simply cannot do this without you.
We have seen and endured much change over the last year. It is through our courage and our common bonds as Allegiant Flight Attendants, professionals, and advocates for a single, powerful and effective voice that have helped us withstand and adapt.
KCM - example of influence
12/19/2014 6:18:42 PM by Admin 577
How influential are crewmember alliances?
In a matter of hours after the attacks of September 11, 2001 our lives, our industry and our nation's security changed forever. Ultimately the TSA we know today became the guardians of our workplace. Security lines instantly swelled and even after increased crew verification, fingerprinting, new IDs, and ten-year background checks, Flight Attendants and Pilots were still subjected to the same TSA rigors as our unknown and unverified passengers.

We have just completed our Local 577 Town Hall Call. We would like to send a big thank you to everyone who submitted questions and participated.
Topics addressed on the call included Pilot strike information, coordinated efforts to support the IBT, future Flight Attendant Negotiations, and what we can all do to support our Negotiating Team. We will be scheduling additional Town Hall opportunities as well as Base Visits in the near future. Of course, any time you have questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us through our website at
Letter from TWU VP Thom McDaniel

Dear TWU Local 577 Members,

By now, you should have received a message from your Negotiating Team Members Andrea Farwell and Marilou Resendes. If you have not had a chance to review it, you can do so here.

As you can see, your Negotiating Team is as committed as they were the day you voted for your own Union with TWU to achieving a fair contract for you.

A word from our NT
12/9/2014 6:09:56 PM by Admin 577

For those of you who don’t know us, we are Andrea Farwell and Marilou Resendes, two of your Negotiating Team Members who have served in this capacity since we began negotiations in 2011.

It is with a heavy hearts that we write to you today to announce that after over three years of service and sacrifice, Debra Barber and Katie Fowle have stepped down from their positions on our Negotiating Team.  We know first-hand how challenging this process has been and can certainly understand their decision to step down.  In fact, Management only has one original member on their Negotiating Team. We have nothing but overwhelming gratitude for Debra and Katie’s contributions and hard work and will miss working with them. Please join us in expressing our great thanks to them for their service.
