It’s that time again. For your reading pleasure, A Face in the Crowd proudly presents a dear friend and Las Vegas local, Mr. James Moronez.
James moved from his birthplace in Colorado to the Las Vegas Valley ten years ago. The high energy of this 24 hour town made the perfect home for his fun-loving and vibrantly outgoing personality. Paired with Mark, his partner of over six years, James has created for himself a life many would envy with activities ranging from; indulging in the finest dining Las Vegas has to offer, days spent lounging pool side with an ice cold drink, and trying his luck at the slots. Some days are spent quietly at home with their dogs (a Miniature Pinscher (13), a Dachshund (13), and a Chihuahua (3)).
But these luxuries are not the product of a charmed existence. James is a dedicated worker who has been with us at Allegiant since the summer of 2006 where he started as a CSA. After two years spent fulfilling the duties of that position, he was able to join inflight and has been a wonderful asset to our team. As if that wasn’t enough, he still manages to bartend part time at a local restaurant and just graduated college with a BA in Criminal Justice (watch out Batman).
James brings to Allegiant a sense of fun and a playful sass that makes even the rough days a little more tolerable. As we work toward the solidarity of our work group we know there are many problems still arising every day, when asked about some of the problems he's faced, James had this to say,
“Seriously Brandon? Too many to count! The biggest challenges I have faced are the inconsistencies that happen on a daily basis. There are too many cooks in the kitchen and work rules are often interpreted too many different ways. I am really excited to know that negotiations are going well, and I'm even more excited to know that we are getting closer to a contract! It will be wonderful to get rid of the gray areas.”
We’re excited too James and as the New Year begins we have nothing but high hopes for the path ahead. We also know that while a few bumps remain in the system, the positive aspects of our job still remain and those are the things we need to remember when the issues we face seem overwhelming.
“I love the fact that I can be home every night with my family. I am really excited about our anticipated growth and expanding our service with the 757s. I'm also grateful to be a part of a company that has remained profitable for so long.”
Well said, too often we forget the unique opportunity we have with this company, blinded by a constant barrage of perceived incompetency. James leaves us with a few words of encouragement and his personal credo:
"You've got to work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like nobody's watching. I've always lived for the moment, and I try to make every day count!”
Thank you James, your positive attitude and light hearted spirit are an inspiration. Until next time, remember to be thankful for the things we have, patient for the things to come and find strength and encouragement in the unity being created by our growing inflight family.
Happy New Year!
